MULTIDAY TOUR

Day 1: Pisa – Lucca (35 km; +190 m)

Starting from Pisa station, you will ride along the narrow streets and cycle paths of the historical centre, where you will have the opportunity to visit Piazza dei Miracoli, the famous leaning tower and the beautiful palaces, churches, towers and squares of the city. Piazza dei Cavalieri, will surprise you with the beauty of its historical buildings. The first stop for a break will be Lake Massaciuccoli and follow the Puccini cycle path. You will cycle back along the banks of the Serchio river to the beautiful city of Lucca, where you will have plenty of time to explore the gardens, the majestic bell tower and the imposing Piazza Anfiteatro, dating back to the 2nd century. We also recommend a ride on the tree-lined walls surrounding the historic centre to see the city from a different perspective.

Day 2: Lucca – Montecatini (40 km; +490 m)
This stage will take you to discover the Renaissance villas around Lucca. Treat yourself to a few visits to these wonderful villas and stroll through their lush gardens.

 

Day 3: Montecatini – Vinci – S.Miniato Padule di Fucecchio – Vinci (44 km; +290)
Today you will pass through Altopascio and the suggestive wetland area of the Padule di Fucecchio, of international importance. Immerse yourself in this nature where, if you are lucky, you may spot some migratory birds enjoying some well-deserved rest on their journey south. The bike route then continues towards Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo.

Day 4: S.Miniato – Florence (50 km; +260)
Today you will cycle in the footsteps of Leonardo Da Vinci as you explore his hometown, which houses two extraordinary museums dedicated to him, where you can admire his original designs and inventions. When you are ready, you can leave your bicycles at the Vinci accommodation. Afterwards, a private transfer will take you to Empoli, where you will board a local train to reach Florence, the jewel of the Renaissance, where between The course of the river is flanked by the Arno cycle path, a cycle route from Montelupo Fiorentino to Florence. The route, mostly unpaved, is smooth and easy, perfect for a family ride. Along the route, interspersed with small rest areas, you can enjoy glimpses of the Arno, the countryside and, further in the distance.
